We are planning the second Sudbury Workers Education And Advocacy Centre Workers Cafe – Open Mic. On June 30th at 1 pm join us in person at the Sudbury Main Public Library downstairs in Room 1!
This is a free family-friendly event open to all members of the public to learn more about workers’ rights and take the stage to share poems, stories, songs, skits, monologues, and much more.
Our theme for Sudbury will focus on “Summer Work”, We aim to highlight the voices of workers who wish to share experiences of summer jobs, placements, and opportunities, both past and present while also sharing resources, support, and opportunities to fight for workers rights at work.
Artists are encouraged to sign-up and RSVP in advance here.
Participants can RSVP here.
This event is in partnership with the authors and writers at TAIBU UBUNTU’s Writing Group and My Essence of Mind Outreach Mental Health Programs and many other local Sudbury organizations. We will have more surprise Guest Speakers revealed soon, such as Sudbury’s very own Poet Laureate!
