The Sudbury Workers Centre provides multiple services to help workers.
EDUCATION
Workers are better protected when they know their rights. We provide educational seminars about workplace issues at the Sudbury Workers Centre and across the city.
ADVOCACY and PEER SUPPORT
We advocate for better employment laws, working conditions, unpaid wages, and workers’ rights. We provide volunteer and leadership training to encourage peer support and self-advocacy. We provide a safe space and facilitate employment-related support groups.
PHONE-IN and DROP-IN INFORMATION SERVICES
Workers receive individualized information and problem-solving strategies on specific employment issues, such as employment standards, occupational health information, or human rights. They are also entitled to referrals to other community or government services.
*MONTHLY SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS*
We meet 2 times a month for our All Actions Workers Meeting every second Wednesday from the start of the month and our Injured Workers Meeting, on the last Tuesday of every month, at 6 pm. Both meetings are held via zoom!
