Summer Program in collaboration with the Sudbury Workers Education and Advocacy Centre, The Nigerian Community Association, And Greater Sudbury.

Sat. July 30: Basic Makeup for ages 13 -16 ONLY (Facial care, Foundation, Brow game & Lip colour) and SWEAC Presentation – Part 1 (ESA)- Sat. August 6: Tie-Dye & Basic Sewing (Sewing Bonnets and Tie-Dye T-shirts) and SWEAC Presentation – Part 2 (OHSA)
- Sat. August 13: Painting (Drawing, Shading, layering etc) and SWEAC Presentation- Part 2/3
- Sat. August 20: Poetry Crafting & Basic African beading (History, types, create simple designs) and SWEAC Presentation – Part 3 (OHRC)
- Friday, August 26: Self-Advocacy tips by the AWYF team & Arts Showcase: Open Mic Location – Place des Arts
*All Workshops will be posted on Youtube the following Thursday!
Open to ages 9 -16
Dates: Saturdays (July 30, Aug 6, 13, 20)
Time: 12 – 3 pm
Final Open Mic: Friday, August 26 – 12 pm – 3 pm (Location: Place Des Arts)
Nigerian Jollof rice and soft drinks will be served daily
Only 15 spots are available daily!
Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to learn and practice a variety of artistic skills. Take part in the careful practices of cultural beading, crafting poetry, basic sewing, painting, and even tie-dying and basic make-up skills.
The future possibilities are endless, during each session, we will be able to celebrate the incredible artistic talents of many youths living in Sudbury.
During the final sessions, we will participate in a Youth Art Show, to invite young artists from the program to display their contributions and hard work to the larger public.
